Get to know your midwife

Hi I’m Olivia, an Endorsed Midwife, Registered Nurse, and Nurse Immuniser.

My midwifery journey started almost by accident. As a teenager, I imagined myself in paediatric or neonatal intensive care nursing. In Year 10, I decided to pursue a career in nursing and worked hard toward that goal. When I received an ATAR higher than I expected, I made a spontaneous decision to enroll in the double degree of Nursing and Midwifery, telling myself I could always drop midwifery if it didn’t feel like the right fit.
 

How wrong I was! From the beginning, I realised midwifery was exactly what I had been searching for. It offered time to build real connections, care rooted in trust and intuition, and the opportunity to walk alongside women through one of life’s most powerful journeys. Sadly, over time I found that the increasing pressures of the modern maternity system made it difficult to practice in this way. So I found my way into private midwifery.

My approach is grounded in the evidence, blending the strengths of modern medicine with the timeless art of midwifery. I believe deeply in person-centred care, supporting autonomy, and building respectful, trusting relationships. I aim to provide safe, inclusive care for all regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, or cultural background.

Outside of work, I love road trips and camping adventures with my partner Brayden, and spending time with our two cheeky Samoyeds, Enzo and Axel.
