Antenatal Care

Antenatal care involves regular appointments throughout your pregnancy. The purpose of these visits is to check you and your baby are healthy, address any issues you may be facing (like nausea and vomiting of pregnancy) and to prepare you for the birth of your baby.

The number and schedule of visits depends on your specific needs, but most women with straightforward pregnancies can expect to have between 7 and 10 appointments.  I also offer one-off appointments for anyone wanting some midwifery input, or birth planning and education. Visits with me are generally at least 60 minutes and all done from the comfort of your home. ​

Homebirth

For clients who want an alternative to birthing in hospital. Planned homebirth is a safe and empowering choice for many women. 

Homebirth bookings include: 

• Olivia on call 24/7 from 37 weeks for your birth 

• A second midwife (required by law) 

• Ongoing support if hospital transfer is required 

• Hire of birth pool & TENS machine

Postnatal Care

Postnatal care is offered in the comfort of your home, from birth/hospital discharge through to seven weeks postpartum. Just like antenatal care, the number and timing of visits are tailored to suit your individual needs and the nature of your birth. Visits generally last at least 60 minutes.

​These visits are an opportunity to ensure both you and your baby are recovering well. I provide support to ensure breastfeeding or bottle feeding is going well, check on your physical health, and prioritise your emotional wellbeing as you adjust to life with your newborn. It’s also a valuable time to reflect on and debrief your birth experience. We can also discuss options for contraception during this time.
